“At 35 I did something I wanted to do for years, boudoir! I’ve always struggled with the mindset of my old identity “she’s the fat friend” or “she’s the funny one.” In my own mind, I was never pretty enough, thin enough, never enough. But being in my 30s I have this newfound freedom and joy in my own skin. I feel beautiful. I feel sexy. I feel joyful. Something I misunderstood about boudoir is that it’ snot about sex. It’s not about attracting men or even showing off your body. It’s about being vulnerable and daring enough to step outside of your comfort zone.
I’ve learned that you’ll never “feel ready” there may always be fear of something new; however as Nike says “just do it” even if you do it afraid. I love the freedom I feel in my own skin and the journey I’ve taken to get here.”
